Bienvenue and Welcome to 2013. Once the hangover has subsidized, you have more than 1,000 meals coming this year.
The turn of the calendar allows for change, and we are going to tweak things here at BalanceofFood.com. The key word for 2013 is flexibility.
First of all, we are going to celebrate with more Temptation of the Week segments. The response has been quite positive, and I enjoy doing the segment. We only get 52 weeks per year, but we will run more segments in 2013. The resolution is to get to the Friday after Thanksgiving without stopping the feature; we'll see whether we keep that resolution.
The only major change this year is that the Tuesday column will run in fewer weeks, or sometimes might be a Wednesday column. Some weeks will demand a Tuesday column; other weeks will require more entries, but smaller in length. Essentially the Tuesday column will run on Tuesdays, except when it won't.
We may be covering more in the reality food TV world, returning temporarily to an old favorite (details coming tomorrow). We are hoping for a return from Jamie Oliver, preferably somewhere suffering more than Los Angeles, though we haven't heard a thing.
With another four years of Barack and Michelle Obama, we are anxious to see what comes of food politics in 2013, including the Farm Bill. Not looking forward to a potential $10 gallon of milk, though reportedly that will be postponed for a year.
The one consistency will be Temptation of the Week. The rest will flow based on what is happening in the world of food. Keep informed with the Twitter feed as a way to tune in; sometimes what we have to say about the world of food can be said in 140 characters or less.
We also hope for more comments to what we are doing well or not so good. We want these stories to be the start of the conversation, not a one-sided dialogue. Feel free to let us know in the comments section whenever possible.
Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
