Goon is no Slap Shot -- it's better. Better storyline and a character you can root for. I loved Slap Shot, but that movie didn't present a character I could really pull for.

You definitely rooted for Doug in "Goon." I would argue that Paul Newman's character was worth rooting for, and of course, the Hanson Brothers. Still, there is plenty of room for good hockey movies.
