I know it may be self-serving given my love for decadent dishes and meals to say the following. But it must be said today: don't overeat just because it's Thanksgiving.
I realize that is difficult, whether you are watching what you eat or not. "Eating pants" were made for days like today.
Starches should be prevalent: I should know. I remember Thanksgiving dinners with rolls, potatoes, and rice along with Coca-Cola.
And I know relatives you rarely see will be heartbroken if you don't gorge yourself with dishes they worked hard at "just for you."
But do it anyway. If your relatives insist, take a bite. One bite each from four pies isn't that bad, and better for you than four slices of pie.
Get through the holidays with a neutral weight change. Weigh no more and no less on January 2 than you do right now, and you will be truly ahead of the gang.
Good luck.
