The United States and Canada share a lot of trade, being each other's largest trading partner. Today, we look at two news stories about food that travels between the two countries.
The first story is about some e-coli contaminated beef that traveled from Canada to the United States, and the slow speed of the Canadian authorities to issue a recall. You may recall my issues with medium-rare burgers in Alberta, home of the famous Alberta beef from Canada.
The second story is about pizza cheese allegedly smuggled from the United States to Canada. Pizza cheese is rather expensive in Canada and is better, too. The potential for using lower quality cheese at the high prices should be a food crime in itself.
