When health care is discussed on U.S. television, Canada somehow enters into the discussion. Not that they understand how health care works in Canada.
And yes, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart isn't a "real news" show — it's a comedy show. But people do rely on it for information.
The jokes Stewart made about Canada during his interview with Elizabeth Edwards — about how Canadians barely got radio, much less TV, were a little weirder than normal (as in U.S. people making jokes about Canadians).
But Edwards had a better sense of the Canadian health system than Stewart did. And the health care situation in the U.S. is sadly no joke.
Can't say it's the best reason, but one serious reason why I and other "Americans" are tempted to move to Canada is a decent health system while still being able to follow North American culture, and of course, hockey.
