Lunenburg, Nova Scotia doesn't normally get a lot of attention. But thanks to Ellen Page, the city of 2,317 (2006 population) is getting some attention.
Ellen Page is in a new series of commercials for Cisco. The spots focus on new technology coming to this tiny town about 90 miles southwest of Halifax.
Usually when Canada is introduced to the U.S., Toronto, Montréal, and Vancouver are in the spotlight, unless the joke is about prairies or Newfies.
Rarely does Nova Scotia get to be the center of attention. Well, there was that unfortunate coyote tragedy. And though I've only been to Halifax, I really enjoyed my stay in Nova Scotia.
Even though Page is now this big Hollywood star, there is a comfort that she hasn't forgotten her roots. And those roots get showcased in a U.S. national TV campaign.
She is so adorable.
