This Fusco Brothers comic mocks the size of the Great Canadian Novel, as if it would be significantly smaller than the Great American Novel. Certainly not based on the size of the country, Canada is the second-largest country in the world, behind Russia.
True, from a population standpoint, Canada's population is about 11-12% the size of the United States population.
If you took that to its ridiculous conclusion, a 300-page American novel would be about 33-36 pages for a Canadian novel. In 8th grade (as opposed to Grade 8), I wrote a 70-some page book for a class project.
As "slams" against Canada, this isn't that bad, and it's a little funny.
