The only collegiate bowl game outside the United States has come to an end, at least in this incarnation. The International Bowl, held at Toronto's Rogers Centre for the last four years, featured a Big East team against a Mid American Conference team. The Big East Conference pulled out of the bowl, ending its run.
The bowl did bring some pretty good crowds to Toronto, and an unique adventure, especially for those who previously did not have a passport.
The bowl didn't get the greatest teams, and only had one pseudo local team (Buffalo in 2009). Hopefully, the bowl can be revitalized with a different matchup.
The International Bowl was a distinct way to combine college football and Canada, and it will be sorely missed.
