A couple facts about Toronto Island's small airport. It's runway is routed east-west and across the shoreline, rather than south only and away. There was already a Billy Bishop airport in the Georgian Bay town of Owen Sound. At my blog - http://classicquarters.blogspot.ca/2010/10/reminder-of-william-peyton-hubbard.html - I later suggested a different person's - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Peyton_Hubbard - naming.

Did not know about the dual Billy Bishop airports, though a war hero is very popular for naming things. As for the runway, they would still have to build into the lake, though east-west might make changes more difficult to do.
