Larry King, Aisha Tyler, UFC president Dana White, Valerie Bertinelli, Michael C. Hall, Eli Roth, Snoop Lion, science writer Cara Santa Maria, and Corey Stoll.
Not a Canadian in the bunch.
Now that "Stroumboulopoulos" is back in a groove, we hope for no more interruptions.
CNN did respond back to yours truly via Twitter that its intention is to run all the episodes. The news network also cited breaking news as the reason why Stroumboulopoulos was interrupted all those weeks. Though the show was interrupted for a rerun of an Anderson Cooper reports on somewhat ongoing breaking news (George Zimmerman trial) and totally not breaking news (prisons).
The show was dominated, though not exclusively by Canadians, early on. Maybe this was a way to make George feel more comfortable in his new space, even though the famous red chairs are there.
Though, next week's show features Eric McCormack, definitely Canadian, alongside Russell Simmons and Danny Huston, definitely not Canadian.
Bertinelli certainly remembered Strombo from doing the show in Canada and had some poignant reminders of being in the same studio where "One Day at a Time" shot the second pilot, the first featuring the then 15-year-old actress.
Still, having people on who know Stroumboulopoulos is going to help make the show better for the American audience. What Strombo draws out of his guests is what the show unique and cool.
Using Bertinelli as an example, I did not know that MacKenzie Phillips was only 6 months older than Bertinelli, or that she felt so passionately about where our food comes from (BalanceofFood.com readers will love her for that).
Would be nice to have a few more Canadians on the program before Stroumboulopoulos goes back full-time to the CBC in Canada. We'll keep you up to date as that changes via the Twitter feed.
"Stroumboulopoulos" airs Friday nights at 11 pm Eastern on CNN with various reruns throughout the weekend.
