Starbuck had to become Delivery Man for the U.S. audience, but U.S. TV viewers will get the original Seed on the CW starting Monday night.
Canadian viewers on City TV just saw Season 2 of Seed end on June 5; U.S. viewers will get to start at the beginning of Season 1 Monday nights at 9:30 pm ET.
At the time when the TV show was announced, I predicted that the U.S. wouldn't be ready for this type of show.
The U.S. might be ready for a remake of Starbuck in theatres, but might not be quite set for a TV comedy involving sperm donors. At least not on broadcast TV.
I have to stop making predictions. To be fair, Seed is running in summer on the CW and Delivery Man had its run in theatres.
The CW ran the CBC series 18 to Life in the summer of 2010. The network didn't treat that show well, so we can hope for better treatment for Seed.

The CW will also debut Backpackers, a Canadian comedy Web series that aired last year on CTV.ca and CW Seed (not to be confused with Seed on CW). The U.S. network is giving the Web series a better timeslot than an established TV show with 2 seasons under its belt. Backpackers will air at 8:30 pm ET on Monday nights.
