Eugenie Bouchard is trying to do something no Canadian has ever done: win a Grand Slam tennis final. And Bouchard has Genie's Army behind her at Wimbledon.
Bouchard had a relatively easy time downing the #3 seed Simona Halep of Romania 7-6 (5), 6-2 on Thursday to reach the final. The 20-year-old Canadian star will take on #6 seed Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic.
Petra Kvitova beat fellow Czech Lucie Safarova 7-6 (6), 6-1. While Bouchard has Genie's Army and a lot of momentum in 2014, Kvitova has one huge advantage: she won at Wimbledon in 2011 and is 25-5 on Wimbledon grass.
Bouchard did win the singles title at the junior Wimbledon in 2012, but Centre Court is different.
In their only previous matchup, Kvitova defeated Bouchard in straight sets in Toronto last year.

Jim Parsons is one of the better-known members of Genie's Army. Parsons has been sitting in Bouchard's box with her mother, brother, father, and coach.
Bouchard and Parsons met over her love for "The Big Bang Theory" (which airs in Canada on CTV) and his love of tennis. She had invited him to Wimbledon last year but he wasn't able to make it due to work commitments.
In an interview with ESPN, Parsons offered Bouchard to do what he can to get her a cameo on "The Big Bang Theory." Bouchard was very excited when she heard about the potential offer.

Milos Raonic of Thornhill, ON, will take on Roger Federer of Switzerland in the semifinals. If Raonic can get past Federer, he will face the winner between Novak Djokovic (1) vs. Grigor Dimitrov (11). The men's final follows the women's final in times and media outlets, substitute Sunday for Saturday.
Raonic plays in the second semifinal on Friday at 11 am Eastern on ESPN and TSN.
