Tatiana Maslany finally got what she deserved for the first 2 years of Orphan Black: an Emmy nomination.
There was definitely a shakeup in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Only Claire Danes (Homeland) and Robin Wright (House of Cards) were nominees from last year's Emmys. Maslany's other competitors are Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder); Taraji P. Henson (Empire); and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men).
Momentum might not be in Maslany's favor. Moss was in the last season of Mad Men. There has never been an African-American winner in this category and there are 2 nominees this year.
Orphan Black didn't get a nod for Outstanding Drama Series, but this was probably the worst of the 3 seasons. The nominees are Better Call Saul; Downton Abbey; Game Of Thrones; Homeland; House Of Cards; Mad Men; and Orange Is The New Black.
The irony to Maslany's nomination is that she spent less time on the screen this season than in the first 2 seasons. Still, we get the nudge that this nomination is for past mistakes by the Emmys.
We would be absolutely joyful and thrilled if Maslany won the Emmy. We recognize that, yes, despite the cliche, it is good to be nominated. Good luck!!

Canadians don't usually make the Emmy list, but there was one other nominee. Michael J. Fox got a nod for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his work on The Good Wife.
We really liked his short-lived TV show The Michael J. Fox Show and thought the show deserved a much better fate. Or even showing all the episodes that got produced.
Glad to see that Fox is getting recognized.
His competition is Alan Alda (The Blacklist); F. Murray Abraham (Homeland); Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards); Beau Bridges (Masters Of Sex); and Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is The New Black).
The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will be live from Los Angeles on Sunday, September 20 at 8 pm Eastern on Fox in the United States and CTV in Canada.
