Let's hope that Toronto never bids on another Olympics ever again, much less hosts one. The $50 billion plus bid money is much better spent on fixing our existing infrastructure problems. But hey, what do I know. I just live here.

I don't live in Toronto, though I want to do so. My thought is that the Olympics could help some of those infrastructure issues. Bidding on the Olympics has become ridiculous financially. Winning and spending money is one thing, but losing and spending is pointless.

Fixing infrastructure and the prestige of hosting an Olympics: reasons I would like to see the Games in Toronto. But I do understand the impact of living in a city trying for the Olympics.
