TIFF is the greatest place to find Canadian film in one setting each September. The 40th Toronto International Film Festival gets underway tomorrow night. We will have a preview tomorrow for the current films.

In the meantime, the festival has given awards to honor Canadian film. The Best Canadian Feature Film has been given out since 1991, preceded by the Excellence in Canadian Production award from 1984-1990.

I've seen a dozen of these films, but would love to add to my list from this list.

Some of the winners are very well-known within Canada and elsewhere but others made quieter impacts. You can go back and watch some of these films if you can't make it to Toronto.

Of the Best Canadian First Feature Film winners, I've seen Marion Bridge and Last Night. Some of those titles are quite enticing.
