Xavier Dolan is very busy these days, but made time to direct the video for Adele's new single, "Hello."
The song was purchased over a million times in the United States in a 7-day span, the first song to have that distinction. Yes, fans were likely motivated by a popular artist with her first release in 3 years, but the 6-minute video certainly played a role in that success.
The new album, 25, from Adele will be released on Friday.
The collaboration between the British singer and the French-Canadian director has led to speculation that the singer would make a cameo in "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan." While the arrangement is not official, these things don't usually get leaked if there wasn't some truth to the rumor.
The video, shot in black and white, was made on a remote farm outside Montréal.
While the video isn't a full-length film, the video allows us to get a glimpse of Dolan's filmmaking magic while we wait for the next 2 films.
Dolan just finished the script for "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan" with Kit Harington, Jessica Chastain, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, and maybe Adele.
Dolan's next film "It’s Only the End of the World" was shot last spring. That film features Marion Cotillard, Lea Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, and Nathalie Baye.

Zootopia is the newest Disney film to come out, but unlike all other Disney films, the film will have a Canadian-specific character to be voiced by a Canadian.
Peter Moosebridge (left), a moose and co-anchor of the film's ZTV News, will have the baritone voice of Peter Mansbridge, CBC News chief correspondent and, of course, "The National" anchor.
The film is about a world where there are no humans, just animals. Zootopia features the voice talents of Jason Bateman, J.K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Ginnifer Goodwin, Idris Elba, and Canadian Tommy Chong.
Will Mansbridge say "Zed TV" or "Zee TV"? We'll have to wait for March in both the U.S. and Canada.
