"Thank you to all the critics who voted for me. It must be a super hard vote because of all the other great actors in this category."
Imagine what the Oscars would have been like if Jacob Tremblay had been nominated for his role in "Room."
We got a taste of that when Tremblay won a Critics' Choice Award for Best Young Performer. Tremblay beat out Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation); RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl); Shameik Moore (Dope); and Milo Parker (Mr. Holmes).
"This is super cool. This is the best day of my life."
Best Young Performer is an easier category for Tremblay than Best Supporting Actor, though Tremblay was nominated in that category for the Screen Actors Guild awards to be awarded on January 30.
Tremblay will compete for that award with Christian Bale (The Big Short); Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation); Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies); and Michael Shannon (99 Homes). Bale and Rylance are also up in the Oscars in that category along with Mark Ruffalo (Spotlight); Tom Hardy (The Revenant); and Sylvester Stallone (Creed).
Tremblay thanked his parents and told them he loved them very much. He said he knew where to put this award, right next to his Millennium Falcon.
Though Tremblay dominates the film, child actors and some adult actors are placed in the supporting acting categories: think Tatum O'Neal in "Paper Moon."
'Room' gets 4 Oscars nominations; Rachel McAdams up for an Oscar

'Room' snares 3 Golden Globe nominations

We knew that when the Golden Globes didn't have Tremblay in that category that the Oscars wouldn't either.
If Tremblay had received a nod for the Oscars, you could have had Canadians win both supporting acting awards as Rachel McAdams is nominated for "Spotlight."
