McDonald's Canada is used as an experimental battleground for the U.S.-based company. The Canadian restaurants have served a Double Big Mac for years, yet you can't find them in the States.
McDonald's Canada introduced kale in a breakfast wrap last fall. Its kale salads got some unexpected publicity in comparing one specific salad to a Double Big Mac, noting that the salad was higher in calories, fat, and sodium, but lower in protein.
Our friends at BalanceofFood.com broke down the numbers on the salad and found other salads that matched up better against a Double Big Mac. Plus, vegetables have nutrition you can't find in a fast food burger.
We even get a peek into the term "calorie-wise," which is Canadian for low-fat.
