Canada is celebrating its sesquicentennial in 2017 and the country's national parks will give a present by providing free admissions to Canada national parks all year long.
Banff National Park and Jasper National Park make for an incredible vacation after flying into Calgary and renting a car. You can drive along the Icefield Parkway with some amazing scenery in between the national parks.
The most famous national park is also Canada's oldest. Banff National Park was created in 1885. Lake Louise and Banff are the major destinations but represent a tiny fraction of the possibilities.
Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia is another wonderful option. Those ads and articles touted the benefits of living in Cape Breton, and the park is a rather significant perk.
While I have not been to Fundy National Park in New Brunswick, I experienced the Bay of Fundy at Hopewell Rocks.
I stayed just north of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve in Tofino, British Columbia, and can vouch for the incredible beauty of that area.
If you go early enough in the season, you might see an iceberg from Terra Nova National Park, the eastern most Canadian national park in Newfoundland.
