The Canadian Senate passed Bill C-45 by a 52-29 vote with 2 abstentions. The bill still needs royal assent, which should happen before Canada Day.
The official start date still hasn't been determined: the starting date is scheduled 8-12 weeks after royal assent.

Like the Trudeau Government, we need a bit of time to sort out issues, some of which have had a lot of press and some where few have spoken about the impact.
Uruguay is the only other country to legalize recreational marijuana in December 2013. Canada made cannabis possession a crime in Canada in 1923.
