Schitt's Creek had finally received the well-deserved platitudes, especially on the U.S. side of the border, in recent months. The CBC show will have its series finale about a year from now at the end of Season 6 in the spring of 2020.
The program airs on Pop TV in the United States and is available on Netflix.
Co-creator Dan Levy said the show has been building to this point for some time.

"I truly think it will be, always, one of the greatest comedies ever created in this country," said Sally Catto, general manager of programming for CBC English Television. "It really also became an anchor for a new era of [scripted] comedy at the CBC."
The cast and crew deserve amazing credit for bringing a soft comedy to make a big impact in Canada and the United States. The show gave some great exposure to a younger generation of Canadian actors (Emily Hampshire, Annie Murphy, Noah Reid, Sarah Levy, and Dustin Milligan).
Season 5 of Schitt's Creek, currently in progress, and Season 6 will have 14 episodes. Season 5 ends on April 9 on CBC and April 10 on Pop TV.
