Your humble narrator can vouch for a lot of the TIFF Top 10 list of Canadian films for 2019 as opposed to 2018. I have seen 7 of the TIFF Top 10 of 2019.
The 2019 TIFF Top 10 list has films from 5 female directors in its list. Here is the 2019 Top Ten list with the directors and province of origin:
And the Birds Rained Down Louise Archambault | Quebec
Anne at 13,000 ft Kazik Radwanski | Ontario
Antigone Sophie Deraspe | Quebec
Black Conflux Nicole Dorsey | Newfoundland/Quebec
The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers, Kathleen Hepburn | British Columbia
Matthias & Maxime Xavier Dolan | Quebec
Murmur Heather Young | Nova Scotia
One Day in the Life of Noah Piugattuk Zacharias Kunuk | Nunavut
The Twentieth Century Matthew Rankin | Quebec
White Lie Calvin Thomas, Yonah Lewis | Ontario
I have seen all but Anne at 13,000 ft; Black Conflux; and The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open. The latter film is available in the United States on Netflix.
The 2019 TIFF Top 10 list has the Best Canadian Feature Film (Antigone), Canada's nominee for Best International Feature Film (also Antigone), and the Best Canadian First Feature Film (The Twentieth Century).

I have now seen 6 of the TIFF Top 10 from 2018: Anthropocene: The Human Epoch; Firecrackers; The Fireflies Are Gone | La disparition des lucioles; Genèse | Genesis; Giant Little Ones; and Roads in February | Les routes en février. Would love to see Mouthpiece as well as Sgaawaay K’uuna | Edge of the Knife; Freaks; and What Walaa Wants. I saw 3 of them before the list was announced.
For the second year in a row, TIFF Bell Lightbox will show the winning films at various points throughout 2020.
