CBC Radio's As It Happens took its time finding a co-host with Carol Off but didn't go far to find the replacement.
Chris Howden, who has been with the show since 2003 and head writer for the show for the last decade, will co-host with Carol Off starting Monday.
Howden (right, with Carol Off) also hosted the documentary show Living Out Loud. He replaced Jeff Douglas, who left As It Happens in May after 8 years to host the weekday afternoon CBC Nova Scotia show Mainstreet.
As It Happens airs on CBC Radio One weekdays following The World at Six.
