In the spirit of National Canadian Film Day and the concept of Canadian content, Jay Baruchel has been sharing great Canadian content options throughout the month of April as part of his role as an ambassador for Made | Nous. Made | Nous gets love at TIFF 2019
Made | Nous and other ways to promote Canadian content
Baruchel definitely has biases as we all do. He points out that his friends work on Dark Side of the Ring. Baruchel had an impact on both Goon films. He celebrates the indigenous population with several selections.
Baruchel has gone out of his way in interviews to talk about how Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner is the best Canadian film ever.
There is a path to Baruchel's travels as to where the content is filmed. He finished up in the Maritimes.
Cold Pursuit was filmed in British Columbia, but isn't Canadian content. Made | Nous doesn't make a distinction.
I know most of these picks: Drylanders and Dog Pound are notable exceptions.

If you like all of Jay Baruchel's choices or my choices, you would be him or me. Taste accounts for a lot when making television and film choices. His choices lean a lot more violent than mine. I agree with several of his choices (Angry Inuk; Last Night).
Canadian TV and Canadian film options exist, some of which will fall in your wheelhouse.
