We have a new method of finding out the winners of the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards. The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television will have a series of 4 online presentations to give out the awards.
Monday Broadcast News 7 pm/Sports Programming 7:30 pm/Documentary and Factual 8 pm
Tuesday Children’s & Youth Programming 7 pm/Lifestyle and Reality 7:30 pm
Wednesday Crafts in Scripted Programs 7 pm/Scripted Programs & Performance 7:30 pm
Thursday Cinematic Arts 7 pm
Each segment will have a narrator: the announced ones so far are Eric McCormack, Herbie Kuhn, and Lloyd Robertson. There are 144 film, television and digital media categories.
You can watch the online ceremony via the Academy through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

COVID-19 forces TIFF Bell Lightbox to close for a month, cancel Canadian Screen Awards
Expanding on the Canadian film nominees at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards
Anne with an E, Schitt's Creek dominate 2020 Canadian Screen Awards nominations
One major critique is that so many of the Canadian Screen Awards aren't presented on CBC television or even online where fans can watch. This way, fans of Canadian television, film, and digital projects can watch as awards are handed out. They can also skip the parts where they don't care. For example, I may not watch the reality show winners.
Another advantage is that film gets its own celebration on Thursday for the first time since the Canadian Screen Awards were formed.
Depending on how the online versions happen, this could be fortuitous in how future awards presentations are delivered.
