Happy New Year! The NHL is scheduled to start within the next 2 weeks yet there is still time for more Canadian films on CBC on Saturday nights. As you can see, the Christmas theme is gone.
Canadian films continue to run on CBC on Saturday nights instead of Hockey Night in Canada.
As we noted earlier, CBC will run Canadian film doubleheaders normally at 9 pm and 11 pm local time (add 30 minutes in most of Newfoundland) until the NHL season starts up again.

A recap of CBC Saturday night Canadian films in spring and summer 2020
Ballerina is an animated Canada-France co-production about an orphan girl who gets a chance to audition for the Paris Opera Ballet.
There is an American version with different voice actors in case you are confused (you and me both). Carly Rae Jepsen and Terrence Scammell are in both versions. Julie Khaner and Bronwen Mantel are in the Canadian version but replaced by American actor Kate McKinnon in the American version. If you aren't sure which version you have seen, Mel Brooks is in the American version only. American actor Elle Fanning plays the lead role in both versions.
The January 8 lineup features a couple of repeats from last May. The Adventure Club ran May 9. The film features adventures with a puzzle where the kids try to save the local science centre. The cast includes Gabrielle Miller and Lorne Cardinal, who worked together on Corner Gas.
Dr. Cabbie ran on May 30. Vinay Virmani stars, wrote the story, and co-wrote the screenplay. A doctor emigrates to Canada, becomes a taxi driver, and runs a mobile medical clinic out of his cab.
