Editor's note: The Toronto Blue Jays will be back at Rogers Centre on July 30. The team started out in Dunedin, Florida and then played in Buffalo.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. didn't participate in the Home Run Derby. Guerrero did save his home run hitting prowess for the 2021 All-Star Game in Denver. His 468-foot blast is the primary reason why Guerrero became the youngest player and first Toronto Blue Jays player to win the Most Valuable Player trophy at the All-Star Game.
Guerrero made the most of his at-bats in the 5-2 win for the American League. He launched a long drive to left field in the 3rd inning and scored his fellow Blue Jays teammate Teoscar Hernandez on a 4-3 ground out in the 5th inning. His 4-3 ground out in the 1st inning almost struck Washington starter Max Scherzer. Guerrero went over to hug Scherzer.
Hernandez doubled to right field in the 5th inning before scoring on Guerrero's RBI out. He hit into a 6-4-3 double play in the 2nd inning.
Marcus Semien drove in a run in the 2nd inning with an infield hit that almost reached 3rd base. He grounded out 5-3 in the 4th inning.
Bo Bichette entered the game in the 5th inning and struck out in the 8th inning.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said he promised his Blue Jays teammates Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and George Springer that he would win the MVP award.
This was the first All-Star Game appearance for these Blue Jays players.
Guerrero was one of a pair of Canadians on the All-Star Game rosters. Atlanta's Freddie Freeman went 1-2 with a single to right field in the 4th inning. He grounded out to Guerrero in the 2nd inning.

Jess Moskaluke did a great job singing O Canada at the 2021 All-Star Game in Denver. Moskaluke won a Juno in 2017 for Country Album of the Year for Kiss Me Quiet.
The MLB International feed has the common decency to air both anthems. MLB on Fox continues its ongoing disrespect for Canada. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred is all too eager to allow and/or encourage this disrespect.
We note the following sponsors that advertised during the Canadian national anthem, showing their own disrespect: Hyundai, Little Caesar's, Geico, Wal-Mart, AT&T, and a Fox promo. If those companies feel strongly in a positive way about Canada, they should speak up to MLB and Fox.
Manfred had to hand out the Ted Williams All-Star Game MVP award to a Canadian playing for a Canadian team. Growing the game worldwide means showing a lot more respect to Canada than MLB and Fox has done.
No MLB All-Star game so no rant about the missing Canadian anthem on Fox
MLB, Rob Manfred, MLB on Fox need to stop disrespecting Canada
As we noted on Monday, the Toronto Blue Jays start the second half in Buffalo with the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox come to town. The Rangers series games start at 7:07 pm, 3:07 pm, and 1:07 pm. The Red Sox games, in town Monday-Wednesday, are all at 7:07 pm.
There might be a MLB Extra Innings free preview after the break. The Saturday game is scheduled for the MLB Network.
We hope the first game back in Toronto, hopefully July 30, will somehow be on U.S. television, complete with the Rogers Sportsnet feed.

We were told the 2021 All-Star Game would start around 7:30 pm EDT. The actual start time was after 8:15 pm EDT. Shocked, not shocked.
