The CBC had a lot of time to show Canadian films on Saturday nights during the spring, summer, fall, and early winter of 2020-2021.
There was not a lot of hockey thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The summer of 2021 has had fewer slots for Canadian films with an extended Stanley Cup run, the Tokyo Olympics (July 23-August 8), and Paralympic Summer Games (August 24-September 5).
We are spotlighting the Canadian films CBC showed during mini breaks in the Stanley Cup playoffs and this summer.
Most of these Canadian films had been shown before during the pandemic.
