Scarborough took the majority of the primary awards: best picture, best director (Shasha Nakhai, Rich Williamson), best actor (Liam Diaz), and best supporting actress (Cherish Violet Blood). The film also won best adapted screenplay (Catherine Hernandez) and Best First Feature Film. The film won 8 Canadian Screen Awards.
Diaz, at 13, became the second youngest ever to win a Canadian Screen Award. Jacob Tremblay was 9 when he won best actor for Room.
Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers won 2 Canadian Screen Awards for the unusual combination of best actress (Night Raiders) and Best Feature Length Documentary for Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy.
Joshua Odjick (Wildhood) won best supporting actor. Danis Goulet captured the original screenplay award for Night Raiders.

There was a sense that Night Raiders would have been the big winner if Scarborough hadn't been in the running. We talk about Canadian films taking chances. Scarborough did take those chances but in kind ways. Hopefully, Canadian audiences will get a chance to see this film.
All 5 Best motion picture nominees played at the Toronto International Film Festival. Night of the Kings | La nuit des rois played at the 2020 version while the other 4 films were at the 2021 festival.
Shout out to new feature length filmmakers: 40% of the Best First Feature Film Award films were also up for Best motion picture.

Night Raiders won Best Makeup, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Costume Design. Scarborough also won Best Casting and Best Sound Editing. Drunken Birds | Les oiseaux ivres took Best Cinematography.
All My Puny Sorrows gathered the Best Editing and Best Original Score awards. Maria Chapdelaine won Best Hair. Best Original Song went to And Then We Don't by Blue ribbon Tika Simone and Casey Manierka-Quaile from Learn to Swim.
