Kim's Convenience had been the sentimental favourite on the comedy side. The CBC comedy had been in the shadow of Schitt's Creek for years. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Yoon, and Andrew Phung won major acting awards.
Sort Of took the Canadian Screen Award for Best Comedy Series.
Kaniehtiio Horn of Letterkenny won Best Supporting Actress, Comedy. Horn accepted the award with her baby boy in her lap in a beautiful moment. Michael Bublé normally wins Junos but picked up a Canadian Screen Award for Best Guest Performance, Comedy for his work on Jann. Pretty Hard Cases had 3 nominees in the latter category.

2022 Canadian Screen Award nominations
2022 Canadian Screen Awards nominations: Television
This was the last season for eligibility for Frankie Drake Mysteries, Burden of Truth, Kim's Convenience, and Private Eyes. Not that Strays was going to win but there were better comedies to make the list.
Amanda Brugel has been nominated for Canadian Screen Awards in a number of scripted shows. Brugel was nominated this year for Best Guest Performance, Comedy for Pretty Hard Cases. While Brugel lost out on that award, she did win a CSA for Best host or presenter, factual or reality/competition for Canada's Drag Race.
Bob Cole won a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on Hockey Night in Canada. Cole definitely had a lifetime worth of work. He may have had more airline miles than Anthony Bourdain. Hope Cole is enjoying his retirement.
