CANADA IS... pic.twitter.com/biazACVHgB

Welcome to 2025. As you may imagine on the surface, this is a volatile year in Canada. That should require extra diligence from a blog that covers Canada.
Unfortunately, real life is crashing around your humble narrator. Mental health is so important and that is an area where I am deficient.
In years past, we would have a NHL monthly January update. No more regular updates. We might even talk about World Juniors. Parliament is dark until January 27, so that will give a temporary reprieve on the insanity.
We struggled to finish our politics and travel previews that we normally run early in January.
We may limit our posts to Canadian film and Canadian television. There will be no rhyme or reason. TIFF Top Ten and the Oscar nominations are guaranteed stories. We apologize in advance for the gaps in this blog. We will shift this if we can.
We normally pride ourselves in coverage of Canadian elections, especially the federal one. I don't think that will happen unless somehow the election is in the fall. Any time short of that and I may not be able to give an early election the diligence Canadians deserve. As much as we rely on CBC News, not even they are at their usual standard.
We have category listings to the right for you to explore elements of Canadian society that appeal to you. We invite you to check them out.
Thank you for your patience. Don't be afraid to get mental health help, even if that isn't easy.

For those frustrated with Twitter, we do post Canadian things and more personal observations at times to BlueSky. If you find overall Twitter to be harsh, especially these days, you can go straight to our Twitter page and just see lovely things about Canada. We may be harsh on behaviour and actions but we don't attack people for the sake of attacking. We enjoy conversation and learning more about Canada and Canadians.
